Christian entrepreneur praying at her desk – Can You Build a Business When No One Believes in You?

Have you ever felt the sting of sharing your God-given vision—only to be met with silence, doubt, or even dismissal from the people closest to you? As Christian entrepreneurs, it’s one of the hardest parts of walking by faith.

In this week’s Ask Dr. Sylvia episode, I tackle this exact question: Can you really build a business when no one believes?

The Struggle Is Real

When God gives you a vision, He doesn’t always give it to everyone around you. That means your spouse, your family, or your friends may not see what you see—or believe in it right away.

My Story: Sharing the Vision

I’ll never forget the night I first shared my vision for Violet Eyewear with my husband. I was sitting at our dining room table, heart pounding, rehearsing how I’d explain this idea that felt so much bigger than me.

In my head, I had already prepared for rejection. I thought he would say, “Not now—you already have your practice, the kids, and everything else on your plate.”

But what I expected to be a “no” turned into a “yes.” To my surprise, he looked at me and said, “I think this is a good idea.”

That moment shifted everything. What started as my vision became our vision. And over time, he didn’t just support me—he became part of it.

That experience taught me something every Faith Boss needs to hear: just because others don’t see it yet doesn’t mean God isn’t working on their hearts. Sometimes, your obedience opens the door for their belief.

Keys to Moving Forward When No One Believes

In the episode, I share practical and spiritual strategies to help you keep going when others can’t yet see the vision:

  • Pray first, speak second. Bring your vision to God before you bring it to people.
  • Communicate with clarity and humility. Explain your why, your plan, and how your vision honors God and your family.
  • Let your fruit speak. Be consistent, disciplined, and faithful. Over time, the results will silence doubt.
  • Stay aligned with God’s Word. A God-given vision will never contradict scripture. Alignment is not a one-time choice—it’s a lifestyle.

Why This Matters

Being a Faith Boss isn’t about proving others wrong—it’s about staying faithful to the One who called you. Your circle may not believe now, but delay is not denial. As the fruit of your obedience grows, even doubters won’t be able to deny what God is doing.

Sugar Plums, remember this: your vision doesn’t need everyone’s approval. It only needs God’s stamp of alignment. Keep walking in faith—your fruit will speak.

Devotional Reflection:

Take a moment to pray and journal: “Lord, who do I need to release from the responsibility of believing in my vision? And how can I trust You more deeply while I wait for the fruit to show
